Update: Kai was released from intensive care yesterday and the doctors said that he is recovering very well from the surgery. This morning, he even texted me a little message for you! He has read your comments and is overwhelmed by your sympathy. While he is really knackered and will need a lot of time now to get better, he is of course fighting to get through this.
One of our fellow LP fans and a long time LPUer many of you got to meet these past few years at Linkin Park shows, LPU summits and meet ups is really sick right now. I’m talking about my best friend Kai aka randomhybrid on LPU.
Past Monday he was diagnosed with a thoracale aortic aneurysm – his aorta was 7,5 cm wide and very close to rupturing. He was extremely lucky this was discovered! After some days of examinations at the local hospital he was transferred to a special clinic where he had an open heart surgery earlier today. His heart valve was very damaged already and replaced with an artificial one. In addition he got a prosthesis for his aorta. Gladly the surgery went well and he is now in intensive care. The doctors said that he would stay in the clinic for about 10 days and then undergo rehab.
He is a huge Linkin Park fan! Linkin Park mean the world to him! He has seen them live numerous times, volunteered at the LPU summit in Amsterdam and met so many fellow LPUers and LP fans throughout the years. Among them his awesome girlfriend Raissa who he would have never met without LP and the LPU and who is now taking care of him and giving him strength.
It’s needless to say that Kai’s upcoming days, weeks and months will be extremely painful and difficult. So I ask you that if you know Kai, or if you don’t know him and just wanna send some strength and uplifting words to a fellow soldier, please leave a message to him in the comment section below. He will see this page and all your messages once he’s awake and I’m sure your kind words will help him through these hard times!
